I use a Whiteline rear bar - 18mm I think, but I did some 'fine-tuning' with the angle grinder down to about 16mm on the arms. I run a locked diff and find it helps to get the inside wheel a little 'light'. It should not actually lift the inside rear if the front end is stiff enough, but it will unload that wheel and the end result will be the same - no traction exiting corners with an open centre.

I looked into the arrangement detailed in the Datsun modofication manual, but did not like the way that the bar clamped to the springs - felt that this would create another problem with spring rates etc.
There is no problem with the design in the Datsun Competition Suspension manual. The front half of the leaf is really nothing more than a locating arm, and the rear half does the actual spring work. That sway bar setup should help prevent the front of the leaf spring from deflecting which will locate the diff more consistently, and should also help prevent spring wind-up and axle tramp.
