hello, i swapped my 1994 mitsubishi triton i know there a #OOPS# box but any way i swapped it for this datsun 1200 ute.. it has just the basic a12 in it and i have purchased a set of twin su's complete with manafold ect i was wondering if they would still work on my datsun because they have a gx manafold on them? what would i have to do to my datsun head to able to fit these?

thanks for your input.

You will need to find a gx head or a a14 a15 oval port head I reckon. You can't fit them to a standard a12 head.

Maybe.

The A15 head with the oval ports will give better airflow, and the twin carbs will provide a more even fuel distribution and more fuel, but

If you have the standard cam, then you arnt going to get the best from either,( you only need to change it abit) but yeah you should get a HP boost, but I wouldnt expect more than say about 5-10hp gain. You do get an awsome induction sound though and street cred for using twins.

You will gain with the twin carbs but you should think about putting the carbs in the shed for now and saving a bit more. Start looking around for an A14 or A15 running with the oval port head you need.

Your not talking big money and heaps better gains. Goodluck.

I'll chime in, while the A12 is original you would be better served to find an A14/15 (buy a whole car if you have to, crashed car good motor etc) The A14 engine stock is within 3HP of a GX motor, so if you built an A14 with GX Spec cam and the SU's you'd have a motor that will go forever and make 25 HP more than the stock A12..................................that would make a noticeable difference.
