not really the doors have these cool lines and the utes are much physically bigger but if u have the $$ any thing is doable but i highly doubt that the rb26 will fit inas the engine bay isnt that long also the 1500 has a full chassis and u can legally put a 5.3 liter engine in them so u can put something better then an rb

you can make anything look like whatever you want.
is it really worth the time and effort and money for something that sounds like its gonna be sold in a years time as an unfinished project??

just going to throw it out there, chassis number can always be cut out and welded into a real 1200 ute....sure they would pick up on it nearly straight away but it would be easier than making a 1500 ute look like a 1200

or you could just cut the floor out of a 1200 and make up a new floor so that it fits nicely onto the 1500 chassis

but at 850kg you could only put in a non turbo rb26, and whats the point in doing that

Isn't a 1500 a chassis car

And they don't weigh your car and work out your HP... they go off the manufacturers weight
So a 1200 still weighs the same no matter what you call it
And a 26 in a 1200 doesn't leave much room for you to sit
I've seen one in a 1600 and there wasn't much 1600 left

I know that some registration inspectors are not the sharpest tool in the shed but you are looking for one that is downright stupid.

Even if you get the vehicle registered by subterfuge, you will come to grief once you smash it because the smart ones will ping you for operating a non compliant vehicle, & therefore unregistered, & the insurance company will wipe you like a dirty fundamental orifice.

Why on earth would you want to use an engine that must surely protrude as far back as the dash facia?
Any further forward & the balance ratio must surely be compromised & yes, there's a regulation about that too.
If you add weight to the rear in order to redress the imbalance issue then you are defeating the purpose of using a small & light car in the first place.

If this is to be a race rocket, then you don't need registration anyway.

You will also need a valid weighbridge ticket for registration so that they know how much to tax you, so if your claimed weight & the actual weight don't link up as they should, then you are 'sprung'

I think that Pepper has it. This sounds like just another ill conceived project that end up either as scrap or as an unfinished project on eBay.

There is a 1200 coupe on Youtube that is capable of 7 second passes down the quarter with a Nissan 4 cylinder engine.
The point?
If you can't frighten yourself totally sh1tless with any number of Nissan 4 cylinder engines that can be legally fitted to a 1200 Ute then you're just not trying.

this is a 1500/620 ute all stripped down there is just no room in there really for something like that...and why would you want too anyway....it is easier to actually modify a 1200 to make it fit then a 620 as the 1200 doesnt have a full chasis and you can change the brake systems much easier and cheaper then on a 620
