Whats wrong with my car this time?

OK.
Lack of top end power.
Back firing whenever using gearing to slow down.
Whenever I give it some, it blows smoke.

Things it doesn't seem to be:
Points
Timing
Sparkplugs
Carby Settings

I have no idea.

Something internally enginized?

Whoever figures it out wins a pony.

Hole in exhaust would cause smoke?

I never really notice the smoke unles it's at night time and there is a car behind me.
I think it's greyish smoke.

I'll take my half a pony back!
