LOL

the roo bags are still available in generice copies from supercheapho checked recently.
However I instead ran into an issue after buying the generic square box bottle and washer it just doesnt fit properly no matter where you put it in the bay.
Solution is some custom rectangular with a separate pump, im almost there as soon as these
gremlins are sorted Ill post pics up.

Would love some custom brass one painted in black but still havent found an overflow
bottle small enough to do this with. There was one on some Euro car of yesteryear but
cant remember if it was for the overflow or oil of somekind.

Gav, you have to use the canister from where the original engine came from no?
Otherwise all suzi hatch, alto and daihatsu mira ones are tiny.

The Datsun 510 guys are talking about Mazda 3 wiper motors.

They are almost as big. Do they way any less?

Whilst I have the same 2 speed (slow and embarrassing) wiper problem as all of you, I modified the washer bag

The newer Mazda is the same mechanism as Datsun.

I disassembled my 1200 wiper motor, and it was still like new. But I greased the linkage under the dash, and it is now a bit faster and smoother. I'm happy with it now.

I installed a silvia wiper motor in my 1200. One hole had to be drilled out and I cut one leg off the wiper motor. I don't think it is any smaller but it looks a little better and will work with the silvia combo switches I installed. I just need to drill out the 1200 wiper motor arm and put a bit of weld in so that the wipers park in the right spot.

Some great input guys, I love our community!!!
Great examples of bitsa engineering absolutely love it.

Michael (lowmion)
that container looks like it has a large capacity, best layout is horizontal for sure.
I like the on and off tap style handle valve mechanism and also looking at your second
pic can you tell us what you used for the heater bypass T very snazy and a big problem
area that often ends up with plenty of corrosion.

Nathan (__1200ute)
it actually looks smaller than standard, this would be due to advances in stepper motor
technology and construction. A real Nissan enthusiast with a great engine.

DDGonzales,
Very good article and Im glad its the aussie Telstar and 323 variants.
My next trip to the wreckers on Wednesday will secure one of these puppies.

Ive found that the early skyline wiper motor has a nice little bracket for
mounting it anywhere anyone desires and will look for a similar horizontal
bottle but made from alloy, SS or brass in the next few days as Im not happy
with the Suzuki swift one now. Volvo 440 and 740 also have an oil catch can
box in black plastic with could look cool. Its compact and easy to mod.

The good options suggested by the many members
will help many datsuns into the 21st century :)

Can you tell me or anyone what kind of T section you used.
Its the one part that constantly rusts away causing leaks.
Looks like a good one!
