Whilst I don't run efi yet, I will be running a version 1 megasquirt unit. It's the old Lagwagon setup.

Edit# I just found out it's Version 2. Yay.

Well if we're counting stuff on the shelf awaiting effort then I've got a MSII to run spark and fuel on mine when I finally get it all hooked up circa 2020....

Almost any programable ECU is fine. I would be getting one that does ignition tho. The ign control is where a lot of the power, drivability and economy comes from.

Just find one that can use the crank and cam triggers you will be running. Also something with a harness plug and a wiring diagram.

Altho i like the Haltech ECU`s, the F7b is a dinasour. The F9 onwards(w ign cont.) would be better.

Megasquirt are another option if funds are tight. Often seen as cheap, they are more than capable and reliable using high end processors.

Im not saying there the best but i have a Microtech LT-8 and its working great on my A series.

It does fuel and ignition and i have reciently purchased a handset. What i have found is alot of workshops can tune these and the handset was not expensive.

I have also used EMS and it was great computer

I'm using a Perfect Power XMS4 on my A14, running only wasted spark ignition at the moment.

Will be running sequential fired injectors once I'm finished with the throttle setup.
