My A14 turbo bottom end is on its way out. I priced up s set of forged pistons and these days there custom made for around $1300. I also got a quote on a second hand set for $900 with ping marks on the top?

I diddent want to spend so much on the A series as by the time i finish with the build, i'll be around the same $$$ as a CA18. Im looking for maybe a semi forged piston or factory turbo piston that would handle 10-12psi boost.

What have you guys used? any suggestions for this would be great.

Suzuki Vitara pistons take jut over 25psi and 450hp look at the honda forums they are the ultimate cheap cast pistons that are a prerequisite in every turbo honda d16.

problem is not available in 77mm as far as I know as stockies are 75 and max about 76.2

cast pistons should do, if you stay under 8000rpm at 10 psi, if you go harder try e15et pistons

Suzuki vitara g16b pistons handle 9500rpm and 25psi plus boost they are certainly worth every penny of 120usd :)

I was going to use e15t pistons when i was going to build my a15 turbo, but didnt go through with it and went ca18det instead. ive still got the pistons if your interested ill let them go for $300 inlc postage . the only problem with the e15 pistons is the compression height is taller than the a14/15 so tops of them have to be shaven down a bit so they dont stick out of the block

I'll get a quote on these two types suggested, the Suzuki pistons sound impressive.

Hey Dat82 i might be interested in the E15 set you have, is that price including the rings?

Those E15et slugs look very very strong. NIce thick crowns, and beefy ring lands. The too tall compression height is probably a good thing. They have like 25x the bowl volume of the standard A14 pistons. It'd pay to work out exactly what CR you want. I reckon you could run an open chambered A14 head,(H75?) and shave it down till it was a closed chamber. Then with a small cut to the tops of the pistons, (And maybe even a wee deck cut too) you could get some nice squish/quench going on. Which should make for a more stable combustion.
That's what I always wanted to do anyway. (Still have many of the parts in the shed too)

I dont know why your getting quoted so much...I paid less for a set of 8 custom pistons from ROSS. http://www.rosspistons.com/

Set of 4 custom pistons suit any nissan for around $550.

They have a price list on the website.
