Hi all, i am not far off painting my ute and i'm starting to think about the finishing touches. I saw one of those LCD, F1 style dash, on a youtube video the other day and was wondering what you all thought or if you have had any experience with them.

At the moment, i am looking mostly at the Haltech IQ3. Reason is i can also then use haltech for EMS and keep it all to one brand..

Don't know if it will be overkill but i have added up the cost of buying gauges and thats a couple hundred, so for a bit more i figure one LCD will do the same job and look better, in my opinion...

Any thoughts?

BTW, im running a CA18DET in the ute.

the display is just one plug that goes to ecu which is easy. programing setup can be done when tuning. The only down side is you lose the old school look.

Not overkill at all, cause I am doing the same thing :). If your doing a custom dash then price up all the gauges you would need ie good quality Speedo, tacho, fuel level, oil pressure, engine temp, may be boost/vac, may be volts, may be air fuel ratio, may be exhaust temp, may be tranmission temp. Then on top of that you may need sensors to run some or all of those gauges plus running wiring to all gauges. I reccon just to price up the necessary good quality gauges would be $700 to $1000 which is almost the price of the racepak iq3 dash. It would be quite a hassel and time consuming, for me to go gauges. The dash is one neat looking unit and it can display what ever you need, well up to 6 items anyways from memory.

thanks for all the feedback...

Just FYI, you can display 6ish items but you also have 4-6,(cant remember how many), pages you can toggle between. This means you can customize each page to display whatever info you may require depending on the use..
