1400GX had the A14T engine. The thing people call GX engines are the A12T with the rare big port head, twin outlet exhaust, pre-pollution Hitachis and a couple of other bits and pieces. It's the rarity of those parts that make it worth something. None of those good, rare parts are in the A14T. And It wasn't worth $1800.

It's like taking a 120Y bonnet and advertising it as a GX bonnet because it's off a "1400GX" model. There is nothing special about a 1400GX bonnet, and there is nothing special about the 1400GX engine, apart from the relatively common 38mm hitachi carbs shared with the L series engines.

Re-quoting for emphasis.

A genuine 14GX ?? Doubt it... And Im pretty sure its just an A14T. As I recall , there was no A14GX built, its just what we called it here Down Under. $1800 for that unicorn... Pleaseee listen to the experts, its a horse in drag !!

(Caps lock engaged) WHERES THE PICTURES! not that it matters. You could post pictures of the carbs, should be 3 bolt filter flange triangle pattern. If it was an a14t. Probably just sus on a stock 1.4, whats the head casting? Whats the exaust manifold look like?

Im running an a14 with sss 510 su carbs, I like it alot. Great motor, only bad thing about them (if your selling it) is the price.
Around here ( northwest usa) an a14 is cheap, couple hundred bucks, 3 maybe 5 for a verry good example, the su carbs are 100-300$ used, a series su manifold are scarce, but around. 100$ can usualy get one.
No one saying your motor isnt good, great combo, but its not a "race motor" such as a gx, wich got closed chamber big port heads, 4 into 2 exaust manifolds, su carbs are just another thing they got. Not the only thing.

he posted the pic of this book on FB (bottom photo). It does not say A14GX. It says 1400GX.

The 1400GX model came with A14S or A14T engines. You could just as accurately sell a single carb A14 as an A14gx engine

Interested to see this photo, I never knew they existed. What page number in the manual does it show the A14GX?
