Hey all,

im slowly collecting the bits and pieces needed to chuck a turbo on the oldgirl.
1973 1200 sedan, brought the car from its seconds owner i believe, the dash says 89xxx miles but who knows, stock a12, electronic dizzy and headders back 2' exhaust, (yet to put the stainless extractors sitting in the garage on...) planning on going blowthrough.
ive got a turbo and am about to rebuild it, so now im looking into carburetors and FPR's, through my digging through the site ive decided to lean towards a boost preped 350holley.
now my questions are, for a fuel pressure reg, im looking at one of these.
( http://m.summitracing.com/parts/aei-13301 ) or ( http://m.summitracing.com/parts/msd-29388 )
and as for the holley 350, from what i have been able to gather through the search function, it needs to be boost preped, being new solid float, upgraded needle and seat, new jets and gaskets?
anyone with past experience able to shed some info or guidance as to anything ive missed or maybe want to look into?

cheers

The Malpassi unit worked for me.

The Big drama I had was air/fuel mix getting blown out of the throttle shaft bushes. Make sure the shaft bushes are in good condition or new.

i say go straight for injection, you will get frustrated with carby and end up there anyway

happened to me, and many others that setup carby turbos

Quite a few people have got good reliable setups using drawthrough but using an SU rather than 32/36 webers.

Topgear, L18_B110 and a few L series on Ozdat as well not to mention Holden 186, 202s and Valiant guys running a set of 2 inch SUs. Some peeps still run it on IP racing, hillclimbs and other sporting events.

If you have good money go injection for sure its better but unless you put aside over a grand or 2 to set it up, an SU does the job and keeps it all simple.

Looks at Sikyne's $1500 DIY injection setup. Will be cheaper in the long run and much more potential. I have seen the dead stock a12 that he ran that injection setup and some boost and made over 100kw

When options like that are possible it seems pointless to go down the carby route.

You'll also want to externally reference the powervalve on your holley too.
Steveo used to run a blowthrough Holley on his A15 too.
