A remote-mounted Hydraulic clutch Master cylinder may also be needed if there is not enough room in the engine compartment.
Contents |
Overview
Mount the clutch master inside the passenger compartment -- under the dash -- and connect it to the gearbox slave cylinder via a hydraulic line.
- Fabricate L-shaped bracket, bolt (or weld) to the under-dash steering column brace
- Lengthen clutch pedal, attach the master rod ABOVE the fulcrum
- Place the filler tube under the dash, connect to master via rubber hose
Not enough room after a big Engine Swap? Move the clutch master under the dash!
PIGDOG
PIGDOG used a A20 Celica (1970-1977) master cylinder and replaced the Reservior with a banjo fitting
Celica first generation A20 (A21, A22, A25, A27, etc.)
Banjo fittings are available at auto parts stores in generic metric sizes. PIGDOG used one off a Nissan Skyline#R33 power steering pump.
HiAce brake reservoir with one of the outlets blocked off was mounted in the engine bay. Big hose is just the feed from the reservoir so no pressure in there....same clamp that was on there stock
