Good luck dude, I look forward to hearing what times she puts down.
I too, am itching to give mine a blast down the 1/4 mile.

yes well,

doing a turn sunday night, missed second gear from 7500rpm in first, and i must have over-revved it when it didnt go into gear, i thought i killed the gearbox, but i changed that and it still makes a massive rattle, so i guess one of the bottom end bearings has died on me

dunno if will try the a14 block i have or look out for a CA now

maybe sell the twin turbo setup

you know where to send the turbos should you choose to get rid of them....

Sorry to hear it! Keep working on the a-series if it interests you at all. The CA is so "been done".

don't give up just yet - check that the flywheel hasn't come loose! It certainly wouldn't be the first A series to shake the flywheel on an over-rev. If it is, make sure you tighten to manufacturer's specs and locktite the bolts.

Coulda had a piston Kiss a valve, bent pushrods make a hellava rattle, you'd probably hear a 3cyl idle though.

Either way, open 'er up for a post mortem.

I agree with ddgonzal. Rather keep the A15 and just rebuild and maybe balance and play around with it.
You must admit, it kept up well with the punishment you put it through so far.
A CA conversion has been done quite a few times and is not interesting anymore.
Everytime I see a post from you about the A15tt I check it out.
The CA posts does not interest me that much anymore.

Sorry CA guys.

Even though im putting a ca in the ute id have to agree with the other guys give her a freshen up and work on the injection manifold that you were going to do and keep it twin turbo just cause its different. If it turns out the engines stuffed and you cant be bothered building it yourself give randy a call at the 1600 workshop in bayswater they do good work
