Full size console came with a blank plate. GX models were fitted with a Clock. The Tachometer was rightly fitted into the dashboard, but you can put the tachometer in the console if you so choose.

1970-1971 appears to be gold tinted, while 1972 seems to be silver-tinted. But the GL brochure shows what looks like a black tinted console. The catalogs show only two numbers: early and 1972.

Mask

Console mask starts with the same plastic piece as the dash mask, and then rivits it to a complex aluminum adapter.

The console mask has an aluminum adapter bracket to allow it to bolt to the three console holes.

Clock Fitting

Just unbolt the mask plate, and bolt in the Clock. The same clock fitted in the round Coupe/Sedan dash is used in the console.

If the side-brackets are missing — e.g. a 1978-up Truck clock — you may fabricate a simple bracket to hold the clock in place.

Tachometer Fitting

The factory tachometer was not designed to bolt to the console. But is will fit if you make a bracket to hold it in place. Plumber's Strap Tapeᴵ might even work.
