Various types of brackets were used over the years to fix the aircon compressor to the engine. Early A12 and late A12 brackets differ. You can make your own brackets, buy used from a 1200 or 210/B310 or A-engined Cherry/Pulsar/Vanette, or buy new.

Overview

The engine parts needed for aircon are 1) Compressor 2) Compressor bracket 3) Crankshaft Pulley and 4) V-belt

B110 1970-1976 All custom, various types
B120 1978-1979 Factory high-idler mount
B120 1980-     Factory low-idler pulley mount

A bracket can be fabricated of two 8mm strips of metal (going across) and two vertical strips to connect to the compressor. An idler pulley can be added from a Nissan or other vehicle.

Early Engine

Compressor on early A12 (1970-1973, front-mount distributor type)

Custom install on right-side, battery moved to trunk, compressor place just above oil pump. Mounted like an alternator with no idler pulley

This in an Australia 1200. It uses a humongous bracket to space the compressor out past the low-mounted alternator.

Late Block Bracket Pattern

This was patterned off an A15 block in Australia, it should be close enough to get you started. The bolts on my block are 3/8" x 16 TPI UNC with about 25mm of thread depth.

NOTE: A-series uses M10 bolts alloy steel (10.9 strength)
