Grand Luxury twin carb (GX) was the top of the line for Datsun 1200. All the options for GL trim were standard fitment on the GX. Both 4-door sedan and Coupe were offered in GX Trim. Automatic or 4-speed was offered and 5-speed was only available in the GX5. GX trim was offered only in Japan and in South Africa.

GX South Africa
South Africa GX used the 1972 Facelift parts, but with several differences including hubcaps and interiors. Apparently this was the only country outside Japan that sold B110 GX cars. The GX5 was not sold in South Africa.
GX Identification
The vast majority of "GX" 1200s for sale in the 21st century have been replicas/clones -- also known as fakes.
Look for:
- build plate in Japanese script or Afrikaans
- Build plate showing 83 PS
- Engine with twin-inlet Suction Pipe (small inlet is non-curved)
- Chassis number which matches the build plate
