My 1200 did not overheat at this gauge reading (did not boil over) -- at sea level, but would at higher elevations. Going slower let it cool down.
This is the max gauge reading before overheating. Probably 210F degrees. |

| The ID1000 looks heaps smaller but neally flows 3x more. I sat down with the tuner guy and did the maths and he said the minimum injector I need to run E85 was 880cc so I just stepped up to the ID1000's. Plenty of room to move plus stock idle. |

Need to do some proper measurements but looks like about 30% less gear lever movement shifting from 2nd to 3rd gears.

Oil should be between H and L marks.
Marks are the same for early (H10) vs late (H50) gauges, even though the overal gauge length differs. That's because they use the same oil pan! The oil level from the bottom of the pan is what is important.

Dual-wire version is wired the same (2nd wire is a take-off point for some other device)
Late versions have the fastening ring soldered to the unit. Older versions use a separate ring, making the housing-to-metal earth/ground connection very important to get clean. |
