Flange

Bolt Pattern
H145 has 8-stud removable center. H150 and H165 also use 8 bolts. But only the H145 is 8-stud (the others use bolts).

Flange
H145: scalloped flange, bolt hole rectangle 36 x 50 mm
H150: 45 x 54 mm round or rectangular flange
H165: 45 x 54 mm round or rectangular flange
There are some differences between flanges on H165's, some long (~217.5mm from carrier mounting face to driveshaft flange face), some short (~202.5mm). Depth of hole for centering boss varies also.
H190: 50 x 60 mm, round or rectangular

EXAMPLE: HF38 = H190 with 3.889 ratio was factory fitted
Axle code is on Chassis Identification plate 1980-on, in the engine compartment. Starting in mid-80s, Axle Code is on door-jamb sticker.
Factory LSD has a sticker on the back of the diff housing.
Counting
To verify the ratio in the vehicle matches the original equipment (or build tag), you may count turns of the wheel vs turns of the driveshaft. If slightly less than 4 turns of the driveshaft results in one turn of the wheels, it is a 3.9 ratio. If it takes a bit more than 4 turns, it is a 4.111 ratio.
Even better is to note the stamped numbers on the ring gear. For example, this unit is stamped 39:11
39 divided by 11 = 3.545 ratio
Pinion gear is similarly stamped
BW
Australian-assembled B110 sedans used a Borg Warner Model 60 rear axle, starting in Late 1971. It has an octagonal gasket, instead of the round gasket of the Japan diffs. It is also a Salisbury type (non-banjo) so it has a bolt-on cover, while all Japan diffs have a bolt-in gear carrier.

H145
NOTE: Aussie-built B110 sedans with a non-removable diff center use the BW60 diff.
H145 is a Hitachi design with 145mm ring gear (5.71 inch).
B10 H145 uses a hand brake cross Rod -- a solid rod (B110 uses hand brake cables)
B110 H145 uses hand brake Cables (no rods)
Coupe
H150

H150 was not fitted to Datsun 1200 orignally, but is common to have it swapped in. It looks like H145 (only 5mm larger), but has these major differences:
* H150 fastens to the axle housing with bolts instead of studs * H150 orginally was fitted to 1975-1978 B210 and 1979-1982 B310
H165
H145: Vent to left of diff H165: Vent to right of diff
Brake Line Split
1200 splitter is on right side of RHD coupe & sedan splitter is on left side of RHD ute splitter is near center of LHD coupe & sedan
Flexible Hose (from chassis to rear axle) is the same RHD/LHD. Splitter is the same.
Shock Mount

Sedan vs Coupe: sedans have a shock bracket for the axle housing, which coupes lack.
Bound Bumpers
1200 Coupe/van/truck has bound bumpers
1200 Sedan does not have this, as the bound bumper is built into the top of the shock absorbers.
Brake Adjusters

B110, B120 to 1989, B210 has manual adjuster
B120 from 1989 (H165) has star-wheel auto-adjuster
B310 (H150) A14/A15 adjuster assembly (automatic with star wheel)
