Datsun 1200s came with different types of seats, depending on the market. Front seat style include: fixed, tilting (folding) and reclining. The coupe rear seat folds down. Different trim levels got different materials, namely vinyl or vinyl with cloth inserts. Sedan and Coupe seats generally differ in the cut and level of support padding. Some market like Australia produced seats locally. Head restraints were optional in some markets, but standard in USA.

Australia-market B120 seats are not suitable for sedans as the back is not finished, but are extra thin compared to sedan seats with a slim-profile headrest.

Sport Seats
In-between cushy factory seats and full-racing seats are sport seats with supportive side-bolster. Easier to enter and exit, they also allow more motion than deep-buck racing seats.
Forza seats - The 1200 rails line up perfectly, although need to drill new holes for the rear bolts and fit a couple of spacers.
Recaro Seats
Recaro is the premium automobile seat company.
Vintage
South Yokohama - Cobra low-back classic
Revolution Racegear classic look (though not good for racing)
Racing Seats
Racing seats - shells - are thin and light. Support typically comes from a deep bucket design, which makes them more difficult to enter and exit.
Seat Rails
Adapting Seats
NOTE: When bolting in seats, use high-strength bolts (10.8 spec), so that in a minor accident the bolts do not break.
Many, many seats will fit into your Datsun 1200. You can use flat plates to adapt the 1200 rails to the new seats:
Just get 2 lengths of 50mm x 5mm flat bar bolted to the bottom of the seat front to back (or side to side) and then bolt the B110 rails to the flat bar. On some seats you may need to grind a bit off the Datsun runner if it hits the bolt that holds the seat to the flat bar.
Chassis Brackets - for flat seat runners
Australia Legalities
Seats must be mod plated (conform to Australia Design Rules).
Be really careful when fitting different rails to different seats, like Datsun rails to Toyota seats. Reportedly, Engineers have said it is very difficult to get them mod plated, which all aftermarket seats have to be. You really need to spend some extra coin and at least get an engineer to design your fabrication. Then have th4 engineer do the work, or you can do the work and have the engineer to mod plate it for you.
