This should give you an idea as to how low I placed the engine,,,,theres less than 5mm space between the cross member and the sump...very tight lowers the centre of gravity for handling and as far back as I can. |

"My pride and joy is one of the original works Yokohama/ Enkei race cars. Still completely original with Enkei slide throttle body and Kugelfischer injection pump. Almost completely restored. Any help tracing history and background will be appreciated."
It would be my pride and joy too. Anyone have any history of the car for him?

flares from F.A.R. in NZ. 75mm universal flare. they look a bit big as the wheels in the photo are only 6" wide. I changed to the ute diff too which is narrower than my old one. Could probably change now to 50 mm flares. If I did I would buy them from these guys, I think they are a good product. Forgive them not being tidily glassed on, my excuse is lack of time and I thought I'd probably break them sooner or later and screwed on they are easier to replace

This is my old 1200 race car. Unfortunately it never got properly finished & I had to sell itafter only a couple of drives. It had a SR20de with Quad Throttle Bodies, 12.5:1 Pistons, Autronic ECU etc. It was dyno'd at 237hp @ Flywheel & it still had to be run in & tuned properly. |

top 20 cars from the 86 total entries at the first round or the QLD Super Sprint Series.
This will give you a bit of an idea of the cars that were there. For the overseas guys, a Formula Holden is an open wheel racecar based on F3000 chassis with a 340bhp V6 engine, weighs 675 kg, with 10" front and 14" rear slicks!!! The Axtel Suzuki is a Hillclimb Special open wheeler with a suzuki bike engine, wings and slicks. 2 people lift it onto it's trailer to give you an idea of its weight. The westfield clubmans were all running slicks as well - they are disgustingly fast. Fastest sedan on road race tyres was Derek Pingel in the SR20 turbo Escort.
Brendan Pingel in his 1200 is a big surprise to be that far up the results. On Saturday his best time from 4 runs was a 3:07 which equalled his best from last year, then on his 3 runs on Sunday he did a 3:05, 3:04 and 3:03! I reckon he might have thrown a set of slicks on it Sunday - you simply don't drop 4 seconds overnight... The Corvette that finished 12th outright was also running slicks. |

The battery is still in the same spot but eventually it will be relocated to the hatch area for better weight distribution. I had to change the clutch from cable to hydraulic,,,hard as it didn't have provisions for a clutch master like the 120Y but its was simple enough. |

Here's the shift linkage. He basically removed the right side of the tunnel to get it to fit. Once it's running we'll rebuld the floor, but the tranny didn't even come close to fitting in the stock tunnel. He made his own linkage with adjustable heim joints to get it to work right. Shifts perfect, too. |
